 Safety for the future since 1906

 1906 - 1906 Company founded in Cologne. As early as the beginning of the century the Concordia Elektrizitäts-Aktiengesellschaft (CEAG) produced lamps for use in mines susceptible to firedamp that fulfilled the highest requirements posed on a safe source of light.

 1912 - CEAG awarded prize for safety and quality. Award for the "safest mining lamp in the world".

 1931 - Success need room for growth. The production plant of the expanding company moved to Dortmund.

 1952 - CEAG produces explosion-protected light fittings in Bochum to meet the new market requirements.

 1970 - A further step on the path to success: emergency lighting systems now included in the product range.

 1978 - CEAG taken over by BBC AG, Mannheim. Explosion-protected installation material completes the explosion protection field.

 1988 - As a company operating independently within the Asea Brown Boveri Corporation, CEAG is part of a strong group of companies and is well-armed for the future.

 1992 - CEAG becomes ABB CEAG Sicherheitstechnik GmbH. In 1992 ABB CEAG became one of the first companies in this field of industry to offer quality certified to DIN ISO 9001.

 1994 - Takeover of digi table Sicherheitstechnik and, as a result, expansion of product range.

 1996 - The CEAG Group and Nortem, Spain, taken over by Cooper Industries Inc., Houston, Texas (USA), Crouse-Hinds Division. Joint venture with Flameproof Control Gears in India: CEAG FCG.

 1997 - CEAG Sicherheitstechnik GmbH founds CEAG Electronics GmbH.

 1999 - Business field strengthened by CEAG Apparatebau Hundsbach GmbH & Co. KG.

 2003 - With taking over of Cooper Crouse-Hinds UK Ltd., Enclosure Division - located in Sheerness, England, CEAG will strengthen its market power in metal and high-grade steel enclosures.

 2004 - As a part of the Cooper Crouse-Hinds Division, we have succeeded in expanding our position. We are taking account of this trend. Therefore, since the beginning of the year CEAG Sicherheitstechnik GmbH has been renamed
 Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbH.
 The trade name "CEAG", a symbol of pioneering technologies for 100 years, will be retained.
